Circles..Baby!

This layout is one I saw in an Australian Magazine about 5yrs ago and thought id have a go at recreating it. I have 2 copies of the same photo and cut out the subject of one photo.
Using many circle sizes ( glasses, cups, saucers, bowls etc) you lightly draw a pencil line around each until you have 5 different circles.
smallest inner circle after the centre piece is paint - using the stick end of a paint brush dipped into paint and dabbed on to paper and lifted off creates a great circle dot.
Second circle is created the same way using a larger paint brush stick end.
Third circle is created using punched flowers.
Fourth is a handwritten script saying, repeated.
Fifth circle is the paint dots again and brads and even spaces.

One just cant help but want to create this fantastic circle layout!!!!!!! Enjoy as I did and a big thanks to the lady who invented this layout whoever you are - its great!

whimisical mermaid faces for "Mermaid Circus"

First drawing to last drawing. Havnt drawn ladies faces since i was 15!! Followed Jane Davenports method and just had a great time and kept on drawing and i think this last mermaid with the blue and green hair is the best one so far. made her more fish like and used Inktense pencils on her hair. We have to now scan and decrease our faces to fit into the little collage book we are making gor the class. This lets us use out own art work. I love her eyebrows and eye shading the most. Also tried drawing seaweed hair that looked like it was floating, happy how that looks too.

Right, a last minute decision to enter the "F" challenge on "Southern girls challenge"! I altered a canvas with gesso, and then added screwed up tissue papaer.
painted with turqoise and whte and gloss gel medium all mixed together.
Then i cut up some fairies from off a childrens party tablecloth thats paper from a clearence shop and stuck them on with pva.
Of course did the whie and black thing around the edges with zig painty pens and accented some of the magazine cut outs with them as well.
Got to bed at 12.00pm hoping it didnt look to bad, as the wrinkled tissue paper made it really hard to draw on with the pens...wont do that again!  Will sell it at fair!
Forgot to mention, love to add corrugated board from an old box around the edges and painted them with left over paint in a very slapped on way so it didnt look perfect.

Layout for "Southern Girls Challenge" (link on previous post or off the badge).  July Challenge is "Warm Fuzzies".  Usually when i look at the boys baby photos i usually go "awwwhhh"! Just the thought of cool, soft chubby cheeks and little cuddly bodies is a heart melter for me.
Products used: paper - stampnup - old stock. Marion Smith papers, Little darlings g45, corrugated board fancy pants - with paint. Chippie is from Scrapware, its painted and pen stitched ( faux) paint around edges and of course, paper edges distressed too with a distresser.

Titled "Baby Cheeks".

2013 Circle Journal

OH ME OH MY!!!! This was to be a mixed media journal about the things I liked things about me!
Well used glossy cardstock and alcohol inked and, then with texture paste pressed a stamp into it and stamped onto the inked card, then stamped in ink ontop on the paste once dry. ( love doing this) Also random stamped with staz on in a dark colour. went around the edges with a painty pen in white and black.
The words are mounted onto corrugated board and used tinfoil negitive surrounds from the donna salaazar word dies (spellbinders) . Also into dictionary pages, so used this as an element for a frame and words.
Love the colours and how it turned out...colourfull and modern!!

Teen Birthday layout

This is my eldest son Lachlan turning 15! What a challenge doing teen layouts...younger is soo much easier! Well this was a challenge for Dusty Attic...as usual my supply of D/A chippies is dismal. I had on hand only this drippy goo borders, infact, i think these were the negitive remains! so painted them and embossed the D/A hinges and made a rustic fence and embossed that, added a DA cog. Used a paper with the circle&star and mounted it on to a plain pc of cardstock.

Travel Page layout

With this page i challenged myself with using layers!! and incorporating multi photos, i seem to only use one photo when im entering a challenge (mostly) but in my private stuff seem to use at least 2 or 3 photos per layout. Papers 7gypsies and stamps. A mask in the corner, compass, Tim Holtz flower die and tulle flowers on top.

Boys Dinosaur Banner

These papers are from MME and are rather old now..3yrs ago? But Still so gooood! The sizes are about 20cm wide and 30cm high. I still like the clean cut lines without to much fuss, and you have room for a photo on each one to hang in a bedroom.  I made them in triangles and rectangles with circles out of each corner (with a circle punch, easy) .

Altered Canvas

An altered canvas swap for Faith Nz Aquarius. I had no idea what to do, so just went with the flow. glimmer misted with purples and coffee colours, stamped onto tissue wrap and glued down. Texture paste on the corugated boards and distressed with re-inkers (lloovve doing this) Glued on flowers, velvet leaves, twigs and pine cones (both from the south island) and of course lichen....Hoping to capture a Fairy Glen. And the canvas had to have a quote of inspiration too.  Dont you just love it!

Tussie Mussie :Woodland theme.

This Tussie Mussie with a woodland theme made me think of Little Red Riding Hood. So i did the colours around that. With a small posie of flowers and lichen and embossed with a bark finish and dry embossed. inside a 4 wooden pegs wrapped with natural fibres/cottons.

Steampunk Time Traveller

Challenge to alter the above item into something to win a Cricut 2 machine from Scotties Crafts. Always wanted one so hope to win!! Just like my photo on their facebook, the one with the most likes wins!!
Left lever is the accelerater ( wooden peg wrapped in corrugated cookie wrappers and copper wire) the right hand lever is his lantern. Dusty Attic chippies for cogs and clock, embossed and distressed with pva and heated and inked, I LOVE HIM...HE'S SO COOL!!! Will attach him to a hot air ballon soon and hang him off the ceiling. Also had to have your own face so had to redo that, wheels empty ribbon  wheels and all the rest is from scraps Awesome! Couldnt stop creating him, such fun!

G45 Olde Curiosity shop layouts

4 Heritage layouts...I  created these from the G45 collection "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" as i felt it was quite a challenge to use these papers for layouts. I think i did well! I also used these, one each week , as a page map for the classes i ran using the 12x12 pad, stickers, and alphas as a kit.

Southern Girls Challenge : Punches & Dies

Layout for SGC, used edge punch from stampnup and chipboards from Dusty Attic, painted and doodled with a black pen in stitch lines.

steampunk luggage bag swap

This was an altered box swap. I had a teabag tin with a hinged lid so used that. Using the G45 Steampunk papers i covered the tin and added cork feet. Using 7 Gypsies gaffer tape for the handle and brace attachements with brads, inked them. Inside i had a lightbulb on the ceiling wih a chain looped to the side and a on/off toggle switch on the bottom of the tin. Inside of course had papers too on the walls.. Loved this tin and must make one for myself.!!

Iced Cookies layout

This page is for a Dusty Attic challenge and the chipbds you see are theirs.I Like this page for its colours and an air of fun-ness!! Made these biccies for Corbans birthday class treat for the kids in his class. Monsters for the boys and handbags and cupcakes for the girls.

Boy layout : "THE CAP"!

Here's my youngest wearing his newest most favourite cap of the day. Spongebob. This cap served many years of school  summers and beach holidays. Often blowing into the tide from a boat or pier and a mad scramble to rescue "the cap" would take place. It once floated out to the mouth of a mariner entrance before we could rescue it in a kayak and fish net!!!!!!!2009-2012.

Vintage baby boy layout

This is a page featuring my Father. It was also a page/layout challenge for Dusty Attic. You will see the Label chippie used for the title. Crocheted flowers from Brenda and others from my stash. velvet 7gypsies leaves and banners around the circle. embossed paper from MME. and G45 little darlings for baby tags.

Altered Key

This is a swap for Faith: Nzaquaries, theme blue and white. Glued flowers mostly Kaisercraft, with a thick wire attached in a hoop  flowers glued onto the top with a bead dangle and owl charm hanging in the middle. 2 flag style words on the side. Little blue and white banners hang underneath. I think its turned out well considering ive never done an altered key. I think the project maybe way outside the actual idea of an altered key but figure it will be loved regardless.

ATC : COLLAGE

For Dusty Attic June theme challenge. used a g45 pkt and the moon is dictionary paper ripped into strips. Corrugated board tree with a DA Chippie : twig and ivy vine and also dress form hanging on a wire loop off the twig. Covered with copper foil from my friend Brenda. Black diecut is a small spellbinders. Wings with glitter.
